Fresh Picked! Part III

I've made strawberry shortcake and a fresh salad, so now...how about a tasty beverage?
One of my favorite drinks in the summer is lemonade.  So I combined lemonade with some of our fresh strawberries..and there you have it! Strawberry lemonade!  So easy, refreshing, and delicious!  Great drink you can enjoy sitting outside reading a magazine.

Fresh Strawberry Lemonade
Makes 4 tall glasses

1 1/2 cups hulled and sliced strawberries
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups water
juice from 2 large lemons

Blend all ingredients until smooth.  You can strain the juice if you want to remove the seeds, but I honestly didn't even notice.  Give it a taste and see if you want to add more sugar to sweeten it up.  I like it a little tart so this was just right for me. Chill or serve over ice...nice and refreshing!

Overall we got a lot of use out of our fresh picked berries!  I used them in dishes and we ate some just right from a bowl.  Nothing better than fresh berries in the summer.

This is a short post, so here's a few photos of the true yums and loves in my life....

Our French Bulldog, Clarence, he's almost 4.

Julius is a British Shorthair, 1 1/2, and the boss of the house.  He'll eat any bread you leave out...(he takes after me.)

They actually get along very well and bring a ton of fun and life to our home.

  4. The drink looks delicious--what a great way to use fresh strawberries! And ditto to what everyone else said, your pets are soooo cute! We just have one cat, Harold, but we want to get a dog. Harold thinks he rules the house so I'm not sure how he'd handle having a dog enter his territory :).
